So I’ve been to Texas and back, twice. But that was last summer. It’s 2012 already. How did that happen?

At the end of the month, I’m going to go play/work at Burning Flipside and visit some friends in Austin, Texas. Rather than fly, I decided to drive out and then take a meandering road-trip to simulation centers and national parks through the southwest on the way back to California.

So far, I’m thinking about visiting Carlsbad Caverns, Roswell, Albuquerque, Capital Reef National Park, Antelope Canyon, and Pheonix. Any recommendations on cool and interesting places to check out?

I’m ready to purge the box of “random used but still functional and might be worth something” electronics.

If anyone has use for them, you have first dibs and it’ll yours for a smile … otherwise, it’s off to craigslist.

- Canon Battery Charger CB-2LVG
- Canon Battery Charger CB-2LS
- Canon Underwater Housing WP-DC100 (needs new o-ring and deep cleaning. Has not been pressure tested recently, but should work. No promises, though….)
- Clie Accessories (Power Adaptor, USB Cradle, Stowaway Keyboard)
- Wacom Intuous 2 Graphic Tablet (with mouse, but no pen)
- Jabra Wireless Headset (functional, but not great)

Claimed:

Im thoroughly enjoying the book The Circle of Simplicity by Cecile Andrews … not brilliant, but very approachable and coherent. I especially like this quote ..

We are talking about our quality of life – whether it brings joy and serenity rather than frustration and aggravation. Whether it brings a sense of congruence or fragmentation. But while voluntary simplicity may be more complex, it shouldnt be more complicated. Something that is complicated is confusing; something that is complex is challenging. A life of simplicity is complex and challenging.
